A fresh beginning

I've been doing this photography thing since 2011, but not that I am finally done with school (hopefully for a very long time), I am ready to kick this into high gear. I plan to work in the nonprofit art world while also more diligently pursuing photography.

My website and social media accounts are channels to disseminate creativity. I will share my professional work, but also begin to share photography experiments, lessons, and images from my personal adventures. This will bring the act of creating back to the forefront of what I do while beginning a career in the nonprofit arts sector.

For my first post, I wanted to revisit one of the most extraordinary places I have had the pleasure to visit: Venice. There is simply no other place like it; transporting visitors to a place of winding canals, bridges, leaning buildings, and extravagant churches. However, I hope to take you on a brief trip through the city through a slightly new perspective than you may have seen before. Below are images from a trip in 2011 to see the Venice Biennale.

The air was thick with fog on the first day, creating an eerie, dense atmosphere in all of my images. It made adjacent islands almost disappear as you looked across the lagoon.

The city has layers of layers of history and in some places you can just see it like a cross-section of time.
